on mixing signals

yes, we have an unabashed pop band on the cover. no, this does not betoken a change in direction (wait till you see who’s possibly, probably fronting November…)

unabashed pop? this ain’t no paris hilton. they’re like internet indie darlings these days, not exactly warriors for the mainstream. also: coverstars of Microsoft’s new Zune campaign!

love the green of hte photo.

it’s weird to see “slayer” written in calm small letters.

i didn’t know about the zune hook-up…
SAY NO TO BILL GATES.

uncertain as to whether we’re the first UK mag to make them cover stars… anyone seen ‘em anywhere else? (wd be really good for us if we did beat the pack on this one…)

the slayer feature has some awesome individual portraits.

Oh God, this does not bode well at all.

Still, great cover! And a good line-up too.

If anyone can see any typos on this cover, let me know like NOW!

‘not exactly warriors for the mainstream’? Well, you know what, I’m kind of glad about that! I think the mainstream has enough warriors already without an extra phalanx from Plan B.

umm, frances, yes, i totally agree. i was just responding, i guess, to how i understood “[at last an] unabashed pop band”.

A free CD? Isn’t that the very thing Plan B said it would never do?

Interesting that there’s a CD with the new issue.

I’m sure I read a comment from ET once (in a discussion about Bang and X-Ray) in which he said that he thought that a magazine that includes a CD is a magazine that can’t stand on its own merits, especially one that puts great stock in it’s writers, photographers, designers etc.

Be interesting to see what’s on it…

The one in the middle looks like a cute little pig.

i like this cover, hurrah for people a) looking at the camera and b) smiling.

cansei de ser sexy are totally totally 100% indie and not-pop though.
