I loved soul music, a lot of punks did, but we didn't have to wear it as a holier than thou badge. which is what i always felt weller and the jam did... which kind of gave a very different spin on their political stance - they celebrated difference and enjoyed the 'otherness' of black soul music like a 'good' tory manifesto... how's things et?
