<description>I just couldnt stop considering that the Jandek songs I was listening to were actually capable of doing me real physical harm rather than effecting me emotionally. Jandek = nasty, sinister, tumour-ridden black plague rat scurring across a landscape of unhope, social disease and an unblessed, decaying anti-life. On cocaine, cut with Aids.

So, Ive yet to hear this beauty you both speak of, so I will download more when I get a chance. But surely art isnt supposed to choke me to death.

Art is supposed to help us to transcend our fizzy 'ology.

At least that is what I thought.

<description>Actually, I must eat humble pie, as I've come across some Jandek songs that are actually pretty great - Nancy Sings has female vocals and is eerie and creepily beautiful and European Jewel sounds like the Velvets' European Son gone wrong.
Some of the other stuff I've heard though sucks away the will to live, it's so black with despair.

<description>Albert, terribly sorry. There was me thinking it was pretty evident from my writing that I'm a Jandek fan...maybe you could check out my review of the documentary'Jandek On Corwood', which appears in Plan B Issue 3? The one in which I say that his songs are 'beautiful, strange and unearthly', and other such superlatives?

<description>One week has passed and you have still not told me whether you like Jandek or not. Are you still undecided Frances or are you just ignoring me because you dont like me? :-)

					<description>Hey Frances May!

Yourline about 'His non-notes swooped like crows landing in a flurry of despair and muddied claws...' is probably the very correct and finest gift of a description that as ever or should ever befall this thoroughly detestable Jandeknoize.

But do you actually like him, Frances? I underwent a torturous half an hour earlier today listening to a compilation of his. I think I was only three somgs in(although it felt closer to three hundred and thirty. I had to turn it off as I began to feel my entire being dying. His albums, I reckon should carry a health warning. Im sure enough exposure to this could result in some kind of physical and psychic seizure. Surely?
Jandek is to songwriting what Fred West was to childrearing.

And he needs to be stopped. *shudders*

<description>My recorder teachers never told me such a thing. In fact, I still have my recorder from infant school.

Loved the gong, first time I'd heard one that close.

<description>I suspected as much; I think I was just trying to be mysterious there.

The Finnish boys were superb, although I did worry about them a bit - didn't their recorder teachers ever tell them not to run around while playing wind instruments? You could fall over and have all your front teeth out like that...

<description>There wasn't much behind that door, other than another toilet, denied to the massses who had to queue the other side.

The finnish guys were frivolous and fun as well. Like a jazz version of the Clangers.
