the sleeping proof

DeliaandGav (81k image)

When I wrote in my review of Delia Gonzalez and Gavin Russom (Plan B issue 7) that I’d spent most of their set stretched out on the floor having a little lucid dream, I was not making it up. Thanks to Greg Neate for capturing the moment.

It looks like you’ve been knocked over by a cow. Nothing in the picture really suggests it but I feel the cow impact coming off of that image. Call it intuition if you will.

What’s Leee’s new axe? Is it the refurbished semi?

Yup, ’tis indeed the refurbished semi. It sounds ace. He has been solo-ing on it in a shameless fashion.

hahaha, that’s AWESOME. i don’t know if i love or hate the other people in the photo, though. i guess i’d probably love them if i met them, but hate them if i just saw them at the pub.

Sean! These people are good! The boy in the hat is one of the best dancers in the world, and his girlfriend is lovely too. The waistcoated guy is one of their pals. The girl with the camera is Cat Stevens, of Plan B fame…the Kosmische crew are by and large a good bunch, you know.

I have some vestiginal resentment for People Who Look Like I Ought To Be Friends With Them because just such a group trounced my friends and I (as usual) at Pub Quiz on Saturday, and although I really ought to introduce myself, I won’t.

Perhaps one day I will dwell in London and be friends with these people. For now I will let my envy transmute into curmudgeonly mumblings. :)

(I am off to Slovenia tomorrow so I guess I won’t be doing anything for Plan B this issue. I’ll write you in late Sept about the next, I suppose!

also: mix cd!)

That’s awesome - you look like you could be levitating!

I was!

I’ll try to get along to that. Any idea if there’s going to be a guestlist?

BTW: The Raagnagrok machine ate Camberwell last night. Surprisingly good sound considering the minimal PA.

If there is a guestlist, you are on it.

Sorry, I missed yz last night! For some reason I had it in my head that you were playing Monday night.

Hope it rocked!

Who’s the chap in the waistcoat? Very dapper.

Francis, that is the most brilliant photo. It’s so out of time, by which I mean it could have been taken at any point in the last 50 years and makes me feel nostalgic, even though I wasn’t there.

Cheers Anna. Same room as Frances’ words, different worlds.
In meantime, some self-promotion for those in / visiting Brighton. My gallery of photos from ATP is still on at Get Cutie.

I fell asleep while typing the night before last, and woke up to a page full of crazy meaningless sentences.

Frances,
You look so peaceful! I haven’t had a little lucid dream in ages.
xo,
Sam
