<description>Aw, no, &lt;i&gt;as if&lt;/i&gt;. I was listening to the damn thing after all, sir!

S'funny, you write a post about Neubauten and Woolworths and it ends up being about Mick Jagger. Proves to me, if nothing else, the guy's omnipresence. If not omnipotence.

:-)

<description>'The sunlight bores the daylights out of me.
Chasing Shadows, moonlight mystery.'

I cannot help feeling that if Jagger hadn't written that; if it featured on the sort of contempory song that would be popular around these parts, then people would be waxing lachrymose about it.
Anyway, what are you saying 'Exile' is poor subsitute for exactly? I can't think of any white-boy blues based rock that sounds anything like it. Do I smell a spot of Jaggerism?

<description>It's a gas but it's also kinda crap. It's like drinking too much bad American beer at a record launch party, or like pretending you're on the 'freeway' when you're just on the M-whatever to Stansted Airport. Mixing my metaphors, but you get the picture: fun, but ersatz fun. Nicky Hopkins' piano playing rules though.

<description>Never feel like you have to justify listening to Exile On Main Street. It's a gas.
