Much excitement.
The website is now active. I toy with the idea of sending out a mass email to the Plan B mailing list to inform them of my new Open Day next Sunday - wherein I sell tons of CDs and vinyl from out of my basement, while making any number of cups of tea in Human League and Royal Wedding mugs - but figure that would be an abuse of power too early on in Plan B’s life. Worry that by mentioning my worry about abusing power in my weblog is itself an abuse of power…and then get stern with myself. Who’s going to read these words? Still, the fact remains: I have an Open Day this Sunday (4/4) in Brighton, at my house, and if anyone wants to come round for a chat, and buy some music cheap, they should email me now for details.
The last week has been spent in a blur of conversations and banter. Spent an hour on the phone earlier to our features editor, discussing the pros and cons of featuring bands too closely associated with CTCL, feeling slightly perturbed that she views Kaito as “big”. Realise that I’m not used to people arguing back with me. Worry about it for a few seconds.
Couple of days ago, I spent five godforsaken hours in a tiny, airless studio that stank of melting plastic recording a variety of shows for totallyradio.com - including my own version of The Daily Show wherein I dissed the singer of Lambchop for ruining his band’s music live by hiccuping. So go and bloody listen to it, ok? Jesus.
It’s dead exciting, working on Plan B.
